Now, consider a nation of individuals who believe themselves to be free, confronted with a mandate, a direct order. But also, the larger the organization, the less individual freedom employees have. The larger the organization, often the quicker the follow-through. When a small business adopts a new rule or procedure, I would expect it to take some time for everyone to jump on board and follow through with the new program. I was a grocer for over 50 years - the last 19 I worked for a medium-sized grocery cooperative. The expectation that a vaccination mandate would be a universal success seems improbable to me.

I would provide a much more hopeful conclusion, actually based on Minnesota Department of Health data, that states “COVID-19 vaccinations and natural immunity both prove to be highly effective.” The data also refute the conclusion that natural immunity fades more quickly, since COVID cases (and thus natural immunity) have been around considerably longer than vaccinations. Why are we collecting so much state COVID-19 data if we are not using it to draw factual conclusions? These data indicate those with natural immunity have less chance of becoming infected than those who have been vaccinated. Breakthrough COVID-19 cases total over 57,000 out of 3.2 million people vaccinated, for a rate of just under 1.8%. The Department of Health data show 8,100 reinfections from a total of nearly 800,000 COVID-19 cases reported in Minnesota, for a reinfection rate of slightly over 1 percent.
First, that natural immunity fades more quickly than that provided by vaccinations, and second, that an unvaccinated person with natural immunity was five times more likely to be sickened again compared with a vaccinated person.
